Hello welcome to our history page

Well this is how we got involved in showing, when we got Carla home we decided that she would need some kind of training. so we rang a local club it was run by a lady called Billy Blake who was showing staffs, Carla was the only bully but they welcomed us and that is were we learnt all about showing dogs we got dog world and started by going to companion shows, Carla started winning she won about, four best puppy in show. Well we rang Cherie who we had bought Carla from to tell her all about it she was thrilled and passed the news to John and Gaye branch, As they were good friends, John and Gaye had been in the breed for about 40 years, and wanted to meet us and Carla, well we all became great friends.

Bajan

We started to take Carla to open shows and she did very well and did some winning so we progressed to champ shows, she also did well and qualified for Crufts at her first one. Well as she got older we realised that she wasn’t going to make the grade so we decided to mate her, so we went to john and Gaye as they had a lovely brindle dog called Bajan who suited Carla and hopefully we would get something better to show from the litter. well we did and we called him Archie, he was a well marked brindle boy and his kennel name was dreams are free, and was born on 26.4.96. at that time we didn’t have an affix, he did very well and as a puppy won a best AVNSC class and went on to win BPIS, we couldn’t believe it as he beat about 25 puppy’s of all breeds he was also twice Best puppy and RES in the terrier group.

he was invited to the coloured BTC trophy two times and he won many BOBs and RES BOBs at open shows, when he went to champ shows he also did very well but the best day was when he got the CC at midland counties under the well known all rounder Liz Cartlage, we were thrilled he was a lovely boy and we may have got him made up but he was tragically killed in a car accident, near our home we were devastated. we still miss him

After that we decided to get a puppy from Gaye and john as they had just had a litter from their girl poppy who we loved so I picked out a white girl with brindle ears,

We called her Scully and her kennel name was  Seqouiah simply smashing (Sire Marshalsea Wild West Hero Dam  Seqouiah Silver Ring) she also did very well in the show ring as a puppy she won a BPIS at EABTC and then she won BPIS and BIS  at the same club she also won well at general open shows winning bobs. When we went to champ shows she won two BPIBs and won her first RES CC on the 16.6.98.under Mrs Edi Mickelthwate, the 1st CC on the 8.8.98. Under Mrs Liz Cartladge the 2nd CC on 15.9.00. under Mrs Zina Thorn Andrews, and her crowning CC on the 11.8.2001.

and she became our first champion  Scully was then retired from the show ring, during the time we were showing her she had a litter of puppies and we got our affix in 1999 we chose Romagna as it is an anagram of Morgans,  the father of the litter   was Mashelsea Hellraser he was a handsome black brindle  and she had three pups. 2 boys and one girl we kept a boy and one went to a pet home and one went to a show home,Gooner did some winning he had a best puppy dog at EABTC the judge was Tracy Flecher, his kennel name was Romagna Top Gun, he went to three more shows and won 3 firsts and 2 bobs, unfortunately we had to stop showing him as his  mouth went wrong so he went to a lovely home in Scotland and is very Happy running up the beach with his doggy friends. the bitch in the litter was Kassy who we showed  her   kennel name was Romagna Rising Flame,  she did very well at open shows as well winning BIS at EABTC when just out of puppy and was BOB at Richmond champ show without tickets, and also BB and best BOS at Bath.

Romagna Rising Flame

She won well at open shows getting many BOBs and a
terrier group. She got one CC and two RES CCs and was invited to the coloured BTCs Romany trophy and the Sandawana trophy at the BTC. Just after that she got a Hematoma on her ear so couldn’t be shown anymore, but she has a lovely home and is now retired from showing.

in Scullys second litter we had two boys and two girls, the boys went to nice homes and we kept a girl and my good friend Berni had the other one she was called Nala kennel name Romagna Penny Lane. she started her show career at just six and a half months and went BPIS at EABTC open show that was just the beginning as she went on to win a BPIS and RES BIS then another BPIS followed she also won well at many open shows and clubs, she was shown at champ shows and did well and went to Crufts but just after that she also got a hematoma on her ear so she was retired but Berni had two Lovely litters from her and last but not least we have our own girl  Romagna Memphis Belle
(Bella)  ( Sire Ch Marshalsea Ice and a Slice Dam Ch Seqouiah Simply Smashing ) she didn’t mature as fast as Nala so wasn’t shown until she was about 11 months old and then only Lightly, she won BP and BOB then won the puppy group, she then won another BP and BOB.  Bella won a RBIS at Notts and derby open show, Bella was BB and RES BIS at West of England BTC and RBB at the BTC.She was also shown at a limited number of champ shows through out 2004
she was always in the line up and  in 2005  was BOB at bath (no cc's on offer)  under Mr P Wilkingson,

then she got a RES CC at Blackpool champ show not long after that she got her first CC with BOB under Mr D Furneaux we were over the moon as the bitch line up was very strong as always at east of England she got her 2nd CC also with BOB under Mr B Foy. her 3rd and crowning CC  came shortly after, at city of Birmingham but this time she was beaten for bob by Dazlin Defiance who is our top winning dog at the moment so not too bad, Belle was named top Bitch of 2005 in the bull terrier year book.  She has now been retired from the show ring and we hope to have a litter from her next in 2007and maybe  we will get something to show from that  litter fingers crossed,
